The screw is made of stainless steel A2. It has a TX drive/bits. The screw has a milling function at the start of the thread that eliminates the need for pre-drilling (except for exotic wood species), and an upper clamping thread generating a high clamping force that helps to straighten warped boards. Once installed, the clamping thread helps to hold the board in place, which allows a smaller head design with the same or higher holding power than traditional decking screws.

The screw head is cylindrical with milling ribs on the underside to give a neat countersunk, splinter-free finish. One of the advantages of the cylindrical head is that it does not press on the boards or cause them to split at the ends.

Product detailed description

The ESSVE ESSDECK Max decking screw is designed for installing decking boards, fences, etc. on wooden joists/beams. The screw has a larger diameter than our standard classic decking screw and is made from the same high-performance steel grade as our construction screws and the ESSDRIVE wood screw, so that it can handle more demanding applications such as large decks, multi-level decks and decks exposed to greater movement.

Decking screws made of stainless steel are always recommended for very harsh environments, such as marine environments, areas around swimming pools etc.

Decking screws made of stainless steel and pre-drilling are always recommended when installing teak decking woods, such as Cumaru, Kirai and others, as well as Siberian larch.
