e-mail: info@zrubko.sk

Shop and warehouse:
Kysucké Nové Mesto, Hviezdoslavova 1118
(next to the garden centre)

The buyer is a natural person or a legal entity who orders goods through the online shop www.zrubko.sk or in another way set out in these terms and conditions (hereinafter the “buyer”).

When placing an order, the buyer must provide true, complete and up-to-date information, in particular their name and surname or business name, delivery address, contact details and billing details.

2. Ordering goods

An order means:

  • an order placed through the e-shop www.zrubko.sk,
  • an order placed by e-mail,
  • an order placed by telephone by mutual agreement.

The online shop has a full ordering system that automatically calculates the price of the goods, VAT and the shipping cost for delivery zones 1 and 2 based on the postcode of the delivery address (Article 6). For delivery by arrangement, the shipping cost is determined only after confirmation by the seller.

By sending an order, the buyer makes a binding offer to conclude a purchase contract. The purchase contract is concluded only when the seller confirms the order (Article 3). This does not affect the buyer's right to cancel the order under the following paragraph or the consumer's right to withdraw from the contract under Article 8.

The buyer is entitled to cancel an order without giving any reason within 24 hours of sending it, by e-mail or by telephone. The seller does not charge any fees for cancelling an order.

The seller is entitled to cancel an order, or part of it, if:

  • the order cannot be confirmed,
  • the goods are not available,
  • the supplier has changed the price significantly before the order was confirmed; in that case the seller will inform the buyer without delay and may offer the goods at the new price, which the buyer is not obliged to accept.

Any amount already paid will be refunded to the buyer within 7 working days.

3. Conclusion of the purchase contract

The buyer's order constitutes an offer to conclude a purchase contract.
The purchase contract is concluded at the moment the seller bindingly confirms the order.

By sending the order, the buyer confirms that they have read these terms and conditions and agree to them.

4. Price of goods

The prices shown on the website www.zrubko.sk are valid at the time of the order and include VAT unless stated otherwise.

The seller reserves the right:

  • to change prices – a change does not apply to orders that the seller has already confirmed,
  • to correct obvious printing errors and pricing errors – if an error concerns an order that has been sent, the seller will inform the buyer without delay and the buyer may cancel the order free of charge,
  • to minor dimensional deviations of products (± 1 mm).

Goods are sold mainly in whole packs. The quantity may be rounded up to the product's pack size.

5. Payment terms

The buyer may pay for an order:

  • by card online via the Comgate service,
  • in cash when collecting in person at the shop,
  • for delivery by arrangement, exclusively by bank transfer after the shipping price has been confirmed (Article 6).
  • by bank transfer in advance.

Ownership of the goods passes to the buyer only once the purchase price has been paid in full.

6. Delivery of goods and shipping

Shipping options:

  • collection in person at the shop in Kysucké Nové Mesto, Hviezdoslavova 1118 – €0,
  • Zrubko van – zone 1 (up to 40 km from Kysucké Nové Mesto) – €35 including VAT, free for orders of €400 or more including VAT; we deliver within 3 working days,
  • Zrubko van – zone 2 (40–80 km from Kysucké Nové Mesto) – €59 including VAT, free for orders of €800 or more including VAT; we deliver on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
  • Delivery by arrangement – for addresses more than 80 km from Kysucké Nové Mesto and for orders containing timber longer than 5.4 m, for which the seller arranges oversized transport. The seller confirms the shipping price by e-mail or telephone within 24 hours of the order being sent. Payment is made by bank transfer only after the shipping price has been confirmed; if the buyer does not accept the price, the order may be cancelled free of charge,
  • DPD (pick-up point or address) – small goods only; not offered for timber and wood products.

The zone is determined by the postcode of the delivery address. The Zrubko van carries pieces up to 5.4 m long. For zones 1 and 2 the delivery date follows the periods stated above; for delivery by arrangement the seller agrees it with the buyer together with the price.

The buyer must ensure access to the unloading point and take delivery of the goods on the agreed date.

Cutting to size

On request the seller cuts the goods to the lengths stated by the buyer in the order note. The Cutting to size service costs €40 including VAT per order, regardless of the number of pieces cut. If the buyer cuts the goods themselves, the service is not charged. KVH beams are sold as whole 13 m pieces; as part of the service the seller cuts them to the lengths given in the note and delivers the remainder to the buyer. Goods cut to the buyer's requirements are goods made to the consumer's specifications, from which the consumer cannot withdraw without giving a reason (Article 8).

7. Unloading of goods

The goods are unloaded by hand.

8. Withdrawal from the contract (returns)

A consumer has the right to withdraw from a distance contract without giving any reason within 14 days of receiving the goods. If the goods are delivered in several consignments, the period runs from receipt of the last one.

The consumer may withdraw from the contract by any unambiguous statement sent to the seller. A consumer who concluded the contract through the e-shop may also withdraw using the withdrawal button in the order details. The order details can be opened via the link in the order confirmation e-mail or on the My order page by entering the order number and e-mail address, even without registering. After the withdrawal has been sent, the consumer will receive a confirmation by e-mail. The consumer may also withdraw by e-mail to info@zrubko.sk, by post to the shop address Hviezdoslavova 1118, 024 01 Kysucké Nové Mesto, or using the withdrawal form published on the Complaints and returns page. The withdrawal period is met if the consumer sends the notice of withdrawal before the period expires.

The consumer must send the goods back or hand them over to the seller no later than 14 days from the date of withdrawal from the contract. This obligation does not apply where the seller arranges collection of the goods.

The seller will refund to the consumer all payments received from them under the contract, including the cost of delivering the goods to the consumer, no later than 14 days from the date on which the notice of withdrawal is delivered. If the consumer chose a delivery method other than the cheapest standard delivery offered by the seller, the seller does not refund the resulting additional costs. The seller will make the refund using the same method that the consumer used for the payment, unless agreed otherwise. The seller is not obliged to make the refund before the goods have been delivered to it or until the consumer has proven that they have sent them back. This does not apply where the seller arranges collection of the goods.

The consumer is liable only for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling them beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning. We recommend returning the goods complete, unused and, where possible, in their original packaging; however, this is not a condition for withdrawing from the contract.

When withdrawing from the contract without giving a reason, the consumer bears the direct costs of returning the goods. However, for goods which, by their nature, cannot be returned by post, particularly timber, cladding and long profiles, the seller guarantees that the total direct return costs borne by the consumer for one order will not exceed the delivery charge, including VAT, charged by the seller for the original delivery of that order and disclosed to the consumer before the order was submitted. For collection in person, free delivery, or where that delivery charge was not disclosed before the order was submitted, the guaranteed cap is €100 including VAT. The consumer bears only the actual direct costs, up to the applicable cap; the seller bears all direct costs exceeding that cap. The cap applies cumulatively, including where only part of an order is returned. At the consumer's request, the seller will arrange return transport; collection can be arranged by contacting info@zrubko.sk or +421 911 869 777. The consumer may also choose their own carrier or return the goods in person to the shop at Hviezdoslavova 1118, 024 01 Kysucké Nové Mesto, without any fee for accepting the goods. The guaranteed cap also applies to these return methods; if the consumer pays documented direct costs exceeding the cap, the seller will reimburse the difference within 14 days of receiving documents showing the amount and payment of those costs. These rules concern withdrawal without giving a reason and do not restrict the consumer's statutory rights in respect of defective goods.

In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, a consumer cannot withdraw from a contract for goods made to the consumer's specifications, goods made to measure or goods intended specifically for one consumer – in particular goods cut or otherwise adapted to size at the consumer's request (including goods cut as part of the Cutting to size service under Article 6). The consumer is informed of this before submitting the order. This exception applies only to withdrawal from the contract without giving a reason; rights arising from liability for defects remain unaffected.

9. Complaints procedure

The buyer must check the goods on receipt.
Please report mechanical damage to the goods that occurred in transit without delay, and no later than 30 days after receipt of the goods, by e-mail to info@zrubko.sk (ideally with photos of the damage).

This period does not affect the seller's statutory liability for defects in the goods; if the buyer reports the damage later, they do not lose their statutory rights. The seller is liable for defects that the goods had at the time of delivery and that become apparent within two years of delivery. After a defect has been remedied by repair for the first time, this period is extended by 12 months, only once regardless of the number of repairs. Under the conditions laid down by law, a consumer has the right to repair or replacement of the goods, an appropriate price reduction or withdrawal from the contract.

Complaints about defects in the goods can be made by e-mail to info@zrubko.sk, in person at the shop at Kysucké Nové Mesto, Hviezdoslavova 1118, or by post to the shop address Hviezdoslavova 1118, 024 01 Kysucké Nové Mesto.

The seller will confirm receipt of the complaint to the buyer in writing (e.g. by e-mail) without delay and will settle it within 30 days of it being made at the latest. If the seller rejects liability for the defect, it will give its reasons in writing.

10. Handling of complaints and alternative dispute resolution

The seller cares about the buyer's satisfaction. If you are dissatisfied in any way, we recommend proceeding as follows:

Step one – contacting the seller

The buyer can raise a complaint or suggestion:

  • by e-mail to info@zrubko.sk,
  • by telephone on +421 911 869 777,
  • in person at the shop at Kysucké Nové Mesto, Hviezdoslavova 1118.

Step two – request for redress

If the buyer is not satisfied with the way the seller has handled their complaint, or believes that the seller has infringed their rights, they have the right to contact the seller with a request for redress. The request can be sent by e-mail to info@zrubko.sk or in writing to the address of the seller's registered office. In a repeated submission, we recommend stating the number of the original order or complaint.

Step three – alternative dispute resolution (ADR)

If the seller rejects the request for redress or does not reply to it within 30 days of the date it was sent, the buyer, as a consumer, has the right to submit an application to initiate alternative dispute resolution under Act No. 391/2015 Coll. on Alternative Resolution of Consumer Disputes.

The ADR entity is:

Slovak Trade Inspection
Central Inspectorate
Department for International Relations and Alternative Resolution of Consumer Disputes
Bajkalská 21/A, P.O. Box 29, 827 99 Bratislava 27
e-mail: ars@soi.sk, adr@soi.sk
phone: +421 (0)2/58 27 21 23
web: www.soi.sk

The buyer may also turn to another ADR entity entered in the list of alternative dispute resolution entities kept by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic (the list is available at www.mhsr.sk). The choice of ADR entity is up to the buyer.

The application can also be submitted using the form published on the website of the Slovak Trade Inspection.

Further information:

  • alternative dispute resolution before the Slovak Trade Inspection is free of charge for the consumer; with another ADR entity, its own terms apply within the limits of the law,
  • only a consumer has the right to ADR, i.e. a natural person who, when concluding the contract, is not acting in the course of their business (it does not apply to purchases made under a company registration number),
  • the ADR entity may reject the application in particular if the quantifiable value of the dispute does not exceed €20, if the buyer has demonstrably not tried to resolve the dispute with the seller before submitting the application, or if the application was submitted more than one year after the rejecting reply was delivered or after the 30-day period expired without a reply,
  • an agreement resolving the dispute reached within ADR is binding on both parties to the dispute,
  • the European ODR platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025; the EU-wide list of ADR entities is kept by the European Commission and is available on its website.

Alternative dispute resolution does not exclude the buyer's right to bring their claim before the competent court.

11. Personal data protection

The processing of personal data is governed by a separate document, Privacy policy (GDPR), published on the seller's website.

The newsletter is sent only with the buyer's consent.

12. Final provisions

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic.
The seller reserves the right to change the terms and conditions. The purchase contract is governed by the version of the terms and conditions in force when the order was sent.

These terms and conditions are effective from 10 October 2026.
