Purpose of the setting tool
This installation tool is designed for setting ESSVE EKD and EKD-K drop-in anchors of size M20. During installation it drives in the expansion element of the anchor and allows its expansion in the drilled hole to be completed according to the prescribed procedure.

The tool is used with ESSVE EKD and EKD-K drop-in anchors of the matching size placed in a drilled hole. Such a fixing can be used to suspend pipe runs, ventilation ducting and other elements on threaded rod; no protruding parts of the fixing remain after removal.
Correct procedure
- Choose a setting tool of size M20 that matches the size of the ESSVE EKD or EKD-K anchor used.
- Insert the anchor into the prepared drilled hole and place the tool in the anchor.
- Drive in the expansion element of the anchor with hammer blows.
- Continue until the protruding part of the tool is fully driven into the fixing; this confirms that the anchor is fully expanded.
Practical tip: Before starting installation, check that the M20 tool size matches the anchor size, and insert the tool into the anchor placed in the prepared drilled hole.
