High clamping force in timber joints
The screw has a large head diameter, which creates a high clamping force during installation. The underside of the screw head is shaped to seat correctly when fixing into beams and timber joist hangers.
The low head takes up little space above the surface of the component being fixed. Longer screws have an additional fibre-cutting thread directly behind the regular wood thread, which makes it easier to install longer and thicker screws.
